Start With the Right Plant Information
The quickest way to get useful advice is to share the basics up front. Tell us what equipment you have, what fuel or energy source you use, the duty cycle, operating pressure and temperature, and whether the site runs through load-shedding with backup power. If there has been a pressure drop, poor hot water recovery, flue issues or repeated trips, include when it started and what changed on site.
For planning or fault finding, a few photos and a simple site note can save time. We often ask for nameplate details, pipe sizes, water quality results, boiler room layout and any municipal or insurance requirements that must be met. That helps us give advice that is practical, not guesswork.
- Equipment type and capacity
- Operating hours and peak demand
- Fuel supply or power arrangement
- Symptoms, alarms or recent failures
- Access limits, isolation points and safety concerns
Support for Boilers, Calorifiers and Inline Heaters
Ai-TEC supports commercial and industrial heating plant, from small plant rooms to larger production and utility systems. We help with specification guidance, service planning, repairs and replacement decisions for boilers, calorifiers and inline heaters. If you are unsure whether a unit can still be repaired economically, we will look at the condition, age, spares position and the effect on downtime.
For older plant, we also check whether controls, burners, pumps, valves and safety devices are still serviceable. On sites in Johannesburg, Pretoria and the East Rand, hard water and inconsistent feedwater can shorten life, so water treatment and regular inspection matter. On coastal jobs, humidity and corrosion are often part of the picture too.
How Our Technical Help Process Works
We keep the process straightforward. First, we listen to what the plant is doing and what you need it to do. Next, we ask for the details required to size, inspect or troubleshoot the system properly. After that, we suggest the next step, whether that is a site visit, a service intervention, a repair plan or a staged refurbishment.
- Initial call or email with site details
- Review of equipment and operating conditions
- Advice on likely causes or planning options
- Site visit if required for inspection or measurements
- Clear next steps for service, repair or upgrade
We do not push a full replacement if a safer repair or measured upgrade will do the job. The aim is to keep the plant running, keep energy use sensible and reduce surprise downtime.
Emergency Callouts and Fault Finding
When a site loses hot water, steam or process heat, every hour matters. Our emergency callouts cover urgent faults on boiler plant, calorifiers, inline heaters and associated systems. We attend issues such as failed ignition, low pressure, overheating, blocked flow, leaking pipework, burner instability and poor combustion.
Before we arrive, we may ask your team to isolate the plant, confirm access and keep a log of alarms or changes. That makes fault finding faster and safer. If the issue is linked to power interruptions, water quality or a failed control component, we will explain the cause and the practical fix, not just the symptom.
- Loss of heat or hot water supply
- Burner lockouts or unstable flame
- Pressure, temperature or level faults
- Leaking components or seal failure
- Urgent safety related shutdowns
Planning for Compliance and Long Term Reliability
Support is not only for breakdowns. A good maintenance plan keeps your plant ready for inspections and helps avoid shutdowns at the worst time, such as during winter peak demand or a busy production run. We can help with annual inspections, combustion tuning, refractory relining, water treatment support and plant refurbishment planning.
If your site has insurance conditions, internal safety rules or municipal requirements, we work around those so the paperwork and the physical plant line up. In some areas, a simple service record can save a lot of back and forth with auditors. It is better to sort the basics early than to chase them after a fault has already cost time.
