Working at Ai-TEC means doing practical work for plants that must keep running. We hire people who can work safely, think on their feet, and keep calm when a boiler is down or a site needs urgent attention.

What working with us looks like

Ai-TEC is based in Jet Park, Boksburg and supports commercial and industrial clients across Gauteng, with service teams travelling nationally when needed. Our work covers boiler servicing, calorifier maintenance, inline heater repairs, incinerator servicing, combustion tuning, refractory relining, plant refurbishment and emergency callouts. That means some days are planned and tidy, while others start early and change fast when a client has no steam, hot water or process heat.

We look for people who are willing to learn, follow site rules and take pride in clean, safe workmanship. A good attitude matters as much as trade skill. If you are someone who can arrive on time, speak clearly with clients and finish a job properly, you will fit in well.

The roles we usually hire for

We do not keep a fixed vacancy list on this page, but we regularly need people in technical, project and support roles. Experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, controls, water treatment or mechanical plant work is useful, though some positions are open to candidates with the right training and a solid work record.

  • Boiler technician and assistant technician roles
  • Service coordinators and operations support
  • Project engineering and site supervision
  • Fabrication and workshop support
  • Commercial and client support roles

If your background is in heating plant, pressure systems, maintenance planning or site coordination, send through your details anyway. We often build teams around the work that comes in from Boksburg, Kempton Park, Germiston, Pretoria, Midrand and Sandton.

Why people stay with Ai-TEC

Our work is hands-on and technical, and there is real variety from one client to the next. One week you may be on an annual inspection in a factory, the next you could be helping with a burner fault, water treatment issue or refractory repair. That variety keeps the work practical and means you keep learning.

We also value people who can work well in a team. The office and site teams need to communicate clearly so that spares, access, permits and callouts are handled properly. In summer the heat can be hard, and in winter early starts are cold, so reliability and good judgement matter.

Skills that help on site and in the workshop

Not every role needs the same background, but these skills help a lot in our line of work. If you have them, mention them in your CV and in your email.

  • Mechanical fault finding and practical problem solving
  • Reading basic drawings, schematics and job cards
  • Safe working at heights, in plant rooms and around hot equipment
  • Pipework, welding, fitting or fabrication experience
  • Understanding of combustion, pumps, valves or water treatment
  • Good communication with clients and team members

We work at industrial sites where safety and housekeeping matter, so neat work and proper handover notes are expected. On some jobs there will be noise, dust, steam, or tight access, and you must be comfortable working in those conditions.

How to apply

To apply, email your CV to engineering@ai-tec.co.za. Please include your name, the area you live in, your trade or support experience, and the type of work you are looking for. If you have certificates, references or a short cover note, include those too.

We prefer clear CVs that show your practical experience, sites worked on and the systems you know. If you have done boiler servicing, calorifier maintenance, burner work, incinerator servicing or plant maintenance, say so plainly. If you can travel, work overtime or handle emergency callouts, mention that as well.

What to expect after you send your CV

Once we receive your application, the team reviews it against current and upcoming work. If your background is a good match, we will get in touch for the next step. Some roles may need a site visit, practical assessment or a short interview with one of the managers or supervisors.

We keep communication straightforward. If there is a fit, we will say so. If not, we may keep your details on file for later opportunities when the right site, schedule or team opening comes up.
