The team that keeps plant rooms moving
At Ai-TEC, the work is hands-on and the people are too. We are based in Jet Park, Boksburg, with service teams covering Gauteng and travelling nationally when a site needs support. Our focus is simple: keep boilers, calorifiers, inline heaters and incinerators running safely, efficiently and within the limits of the plant, even when load-shedding or hard water puts extra strain on equipment.
The team works across boiler servicing, annual inspections, combustion tuning, refractory relining, water treatment support and plant refurbishment. Each person brings a different skill set, but the standard is the same. Clear communication, neat workmanship and a proper fix that lasts.
- Commercial and industrial plant support
- Scheduled maintenance and emergency callouts
- Site work, fabrication and repair coordination
Leadership that understands the pressure of a working plant
Pieter Fourie, Managing Director, has guided Ai-TEC since 2009 and keeps the business focused on practical service. He understands what it takes to support sites where downtime affects production, hot water supply and compliance. Pieter is involved in major projects, client planning and making sure the right people are on the right job.
Ayesha Patel, Commercial Manager, handles the commercial side with a firm grip on quotes, scope and service agreements. She keeps the paperwork moving and makes sure clients get clear information on maintenance schedules, replacement parts and turnaround times. Ayesha is often the first point of contact for larger contracts and planned shutdowns.
- Job planning and contract support
- Quoting for maintenance and refurbishment
- Client communication from first call to sign-off
Operations and service coordination with no loose ends
Lerato Maseko, Operations Manager, keeps the day-to-day work organised across the team. She tracks service bookings, crew movements and material needs so that callouts in Boksburg, Kempton Park, Germiston, Pretoria, Midrand and Sandton are handled without unnecessary delays. Lerato understands that on a busy site, timing matters as much as the repair itself.
Zanele Dlamini, Service Coordinator, manages the schedule, customer updates and technician support. She is the steady link between the office and the site crew, especially when a breakdown comes in after hours or a planned shutdown shifts at short notice. Her follow-through helps keep jobs tidy and clients informed.
The engineers and technicians on the tools
Pieter van der Merwe, Projects Engineer, handles technical assessments, project planning and plant upgrades. He spends time on site measuring, checking layouts and working through the details that matter when a heater, boiler or incinerator must be repaired or replaced. Pieter also supports combustion tuning and refurbishment work where efficiency and safety are the main priorities.
Musa Khumalo, Boiler Technician, is one of the people clients call when the plant needs practical fault-finding. He works on boiler servicing, leak checks, valve issues and general maintenance, with an eye for keeping systems steady under demanding conditions. Musa is comfortable on older equipment and newer installations, which helps on mixed plant sites.
- Fault-finding and on-site repairs
- Boiler, calorifier and heater maintenance
- Support during shutdowns and emergency breakdowns
Fabrication and workshop support that fits the job
Johan Smit, Fabrication Supervisor, leads the workshop side of the business. When a site needs custom steelwork, replacement sections or repair components, Johan makes sure the fabrication matches the plant requirement and the installation team has what it needs. His role matters on refurbishments where small details save time on site and reduce repeat visits.
The fabrication team supports refractory relining, plant modifications and repair work where off-the-shelf parts are not enough. That includes neat finishes, proper alignment and practical solutions for industrial conditions, whether the site is inland dust, coastal humidity or a plant room running around the clock.
Why clients keep calling the same people back
Many of our clients want more than a once-off repair. They want a team that knows the plant, understands the history and can respond before a small issue becomes a shutdown. That is why we keep our team structure close and our communication direct. It helps with annual inspections, water treatment support, combustion tuning and scheduled maintenance across Gauteng and beyond.
When you deal with Ai-TEC, you are dealing with people who know commercial and industrial heat systems from the inside out. We work to municipal and site rules, we keep records straight, and we try to make each visit count.
- Consistent site teams where possible
- Clear handover notes and maintenance history
- Service for plants of different ages and sizes
